Should I type or hand print email addresses?
MongoNet recommends using the
typing feature contained in your Email Cover Page™.
You may need to upgrade to the latest version of Adobe
Acrobat Reader® since typing can only be done in versions 5.0 (free)
or higher to type your Email Cover Page™.
Some features, such as an email subject line are only provided
when you type. In addition, when you type your Email Cover Page™
an industrial strength barcode is produced which minimizes
errors that can occur by poor or noisy transmission, and totally
avoids errors which can occur when poor hand printing does not
match the hand printing sample key indicated on your
Email Cover Page™.
Why is the "From" sender field so important?
For accuracy reasons, the "From" sender
field email address is highly recommended. The "From" sender
field does the following:
- Enables Replies to your Email Address.
- Provides you with a digital archival copy of
every fax you send.
- Provides you with email confirmation of exactly
where your fax was sent (check email addresses
for accuracy).
- In the event the recipient's mailbox is full,
you will be alerted via email of "bounced" mail.
- Identifies you as the sender.
Do I split the email address at the "@" sign?
Yes, you must split the email
address at the pre-printed "@" sign when you are using
hand printing. When using the typing feature contained
in your Email Cover Page™ PDF, you will notice that
email addresses are automatically split for you by
your computer.

How neatly do I have to hand print?
Your hand printing is read by
a computer; therefore, it is critical that you take
the time to hand print exactly as indicated in the
hand printing key. All letters must be printed in UPPERCASE.
Underline all boxes that contain numbers as this differentiates
the number 0 from the letter O.
If you are having trouble with hand printing recognition,
you will want to use the typing feature contained in
your Email Cover Page™.
What happens if my document is mis-sent?
MongoNet assumes no liability
for mis-sent documents (see Terms of Service). Similar
to mis-sending an email, there is no way to reverse
the course of a mis-sent document. However MongoNet's
intelligent OCR engine will not send to "invalid domain
names".
Your hand printing is read by a computer and mistakes
can be made; this is why it is so important to use
the typed version when possible. When using hand printing
make sure all email addresses are printed exactly as
indicated in the hand printing sample in UPPERCASE.
Are email addresses case sensitive?
No, email addresses are not case
sensitive. Even if people tell you that their email
address has to be in lowercase to work, they are mistaken.
MongoNet's hand printing recognition engines work only
with UPPERCASE letters. Always hand print in UPPERCASE
letters only.
What about hand printing numbers contained in an email
address?
Underline all boxes that contain
numbers as this differentiates the number 0 from the
letter O.
What about hand printing symbols contained in an email
address?
MongoNet supports only those symbols
indicated in the hand printing sample found on your
printed Email Cover Page™. Make sure to print dots,
dashes, and underscores exactly as indicated in the
sample hand printing key.
Will people be able to reply to my MongoFAX?
For an email response, only if you type or hand
print your email address in the "From" sender field.
This will enable the email recipient to reply directly
to your email.
For a MongoFAX response, you should include your mongofax
phone number in the notes box section of the Email Cover Page ™
This will allow the recipient to fax back through your MongoFAX
number, which is removed from the coversheet in the process.
How can I tell if my transmission was successful?
Always use the "From" sender field
on your Email Cover Page™ every time you send a MongoFAX.
When using the "From" sender field, you will automatically
receive an email copy of your MongoFAX which will also
serve as confirmation. Make sure to verify that all
email addresses are correct.
If your organization has activated the "Automatic Fax
Confirmation Feature" in your MongoNet® account, then
you will also receive a fax confirmation page to your
fax machine (paying customers only / not available
with Free Trial). If you do not receive a fax confirmation,
then your fax machine may be configured behind a PBX
switch and you will want to rely on your email confirmation.
In addition, your MongoNet system administrator can
also verify any given transmission by viewing the billing
system.
How can I get an Email Cover Page™?
Please contact our sales department: 1(800) 317-1909.
How do I MongoFAX to additional "To" and "Cc" addresses?
Use multiple Email Cover Pages
to gain added "To" and "Cc" fields. There is a point
of diminishing returns when using multiple Email Cover
Pages, because at some point it becomes easier to MongoFAX
to your own email address where you can then forward
your MongoFAX to large group lists, etc.
Note that when using multiple Email Cover Pages, the "From" sender
field on secondary Email Cover Pages is ignored.
How private is MongoFAX?
MongoNet is subject to Federal
Communications Commission (FCC) Telecom Act of 1996
and all laws that prohibit viewing content sent through
MongoNet's system. MongoNet's computers identify, process
and route Email Cover Pages based on Optical Character
Recognition of any email addresses printed in the designated
areas on the Email Cover Page™. MongoNet's sealed system
is protected by state-of-the-art, commercial grade
firewalls.
What is a roving account?
The MongoNet Roving Account provides
you with access from any fax machine in the world.
We provide you with a special Email Cover Page™ and
you can use that cover page from anywhere. Benefits
of this service are ease and flexibility.
What is a registered account?
Registered accounts restrict service
usage ONLY to fax machines that have been registered
in your MongoNet account. All fax machine numbers are
read by a technology called ANI (Automatic Number Identification).
This is a different standard than Caller ID. If your
fax machines are installed behind a PBX switch, you
will need to register all "trunk" lines. ANI "sees" only
trunk lines or dedicated POTs lines. This feature will
not allow for using Email Cover Pages from fax machine
lines that are not entered into your MongoNet account.
Note: Large companies generally use PBX phone switches.
Why isn't it working?
It is important that you read
the directions on your Email Cover Page™. You must only
fax to your company's private dedicated MongoFAX 800-Number
indicated at the bottom of your Email Cover Page™. Your
800-Number is "scrubbed" (removed) with every transmission.
Double check that you have typed the proper email addresses
on your Email Cover Page™. Also make sure that your
hand printing matches the sample hand printing key.
Remember to always load your documents properly in
your fax machine and fax ONLY to the MongoFAX 800-Number
indicated on your Email Cover Page™.
If you are still having problems, please contact MongoNet's
customer service at CustomerSupport@MongoNet.net.
