Vadim
Antonov - Advisor
Vadim Antonov is currently the Chief
Architect of Exigen Group, a banking and insurance Application
Service Provider. Prior to this, he was the Chief Network
Architect of Genesys Telecom Labs, which was acquired by
Alcatel. Vadim is also the founder and former CTO of Pluris,
Inc, a terabit router startup. Prior to Pluris, Vadim was
with nCube, Berkeley Software Design (BSD Unix), and Sprint
(as the architect of the first commercial T-3 and fiber optic
Internet backbone). Vadim also founded the first ISP to the
USSR.
Vadim holds an M.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science from
Moscow State University.
Steve
Capps - Advisor
Steve Capps is currently a founder of
a startup, onedoto.com. Onedoto is working on novel user
interfaces and software for wireless products. Prior to that
Steve has worked at all the big names in the personal computer
world: Microsoft, Apple, and Xerox. At Microsoft, he was
an Architect concentrating on user interfaces. He contributed
to many versions of the Internet Explorer, was a major designer
for MSN Explorer, and most recently, worked on the UI portions
of the .NET initiative.
At Apple, Steve was an Apple Fellow with major contributions
to the Macintosh and Newton projects. He was a member of
the original Macintosh software team and contributed many
parts of the ROM, system, and development environment. Most
notably, he co-wrote the original Finder whose interface
design still pervades both Apple's Finder and Microsoft's
Explorer. Steve was one of the founders and leaders of the
Newton. He similarly contributed many parts of the ROM, system,
applications, and development environment. Most notably,
he was the overall designer of the Newton user interface.
In between the Mac and Newton efforts, Steve independently
designed electronic toys and music software. He created award-winning
products such as Studio Session, Jam Session, SoundEdit,
Jaminator, and others.
Steve has received 51 patents to date with a dozen pending.
Steve holds a B.S. degree from the Rochester Institute of
Technology.
John
Davidson - Advisor
John M. Davidson is an entrepreneur
and technologist in the communications networking industry
currently working as an independent advisor to several high
technology startup organizations. For over 30 years he has
been actively involved in the commercialization of both Local
Area Network and Internet technologies.
In 1968, John was a graduate student with the University
of Hawaii's ALOHA System, the research project that pioneered
the concept of shared-access digital channel networking.
He served as the University's liaison to the ARPANET Technical
Working Group and participated in a number of networking
advances that paved the way for the emergence of today's
Internet.
In 1979, John became technical Founder of Ungermann-Bass,
the networking industry's first Local Area Networking company.
As the company's Chief Technology Officer and Vice President
of R&D, he helped grow the company to 1,600 people and revenue
of $400 Million.
In 1993, he left UB to become Founder and CEO of Network
TeleSystems, a privately held, self-funded and profitable
supplier of Internet Protocol software for ISPs, Carriers,
and Enterprise customers. In May 2000, Efficient Networks,
a leading provider of CPE for the DSL market place, acquired
NTS. John served as VP of Corporate Development until Siemens
acquired Efficient for $1.5B in April 2001.
John holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University
of Hawaii.
Peter
S. Kent - Advisor and CFO
Peter Kent is currently CFO of Aurora
Networks, an equipment provider for the transport of broadband
signals to homes and businesses. He has over 25 years of
financial experience in Silicon Valley. Previously he was
CFO of NetScreen, a high-growth producer of firewall and
traffic shaping products; and RadioLan, a wireless Ethernet
company. He was also the founder and President of INSIGHT
Business Systems, a consulting firm that focuses on financial
and strategic issues for early stage technology companies.
Founded in 1993, INSIGHT specializes in building highly sophisticated
business models, and offering advice and counsel to CEOs
and CFOs. Through Insight, Peter has often served as CFO
on a part-time basis for a wide variety of companies. Prior
to Insight, he helped create Adaptive Corporation in 1989,
a high-growth telecommunications company that was sold to
Network Equipment Technology Inc. in 1993. Peter also served
as CFO for WordStar International in the 80's (formerly Micropro
International, Inc.), a high-growth software company that
he took public in 1984.
Peter holds an M.B.A. from Stanford University and a degree
in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan.
Paul
Mockapetris - Advisor
Paul Mockapetris, a 25-year veteran
of the information technology industry, created the Domain
Name System (DNS) and was the first to implement the SMTP
mail protocol. He was the co-founder and the CTO of Urban
Media, a CLEC, where he oversaw the development of the company's
fiber-to-the-floor architecture that brought high-speed fiber
optical networks closer to the end-user. He was also a co-founder
of @Home, where he directed the development and implementation
of one of the world's first broadband Internet backbones.
An Internet pioneer, Paul has worked on the DCS Project (a
high-speed LAN) and on the Advanced Research Projects Agency
Network (ARPANET), where he served as program manager for
networking. He has a strong background in telecommunications
equipment, serving management roles with Cerent and Siara
Systems. In addition, he has served as Internet Engineering
Task Force Chair (IETF), CTO at Software.com, and director
of the HPCC Division at USC/Information Sciences Institute.
Paul holds a Ph.D. in Information and Computer Science from
the University of California at Irvine and degrees in Physics
and Electrical Engineering from MIT.
Bob Welch

Bob Welch is founder and CEO of Coast
Ventures, LLC, a company specializing in "positioning companies
for profitable growth and shareholder liquidity" since 1987.
From April 1999 until August 2001, Bob was Director of Business
Development for Agilent Technologies, Inc. Prior to Agilent,
he was President and CEO of Telegra Corporation, a privately
held network test equipment company that he and his management
team sold to HP/Agilent in April 1999. Bob and two other
principals founded Telegra in February 1996 and it quickly
became the leading worldwide supplier of network test systems
for the testing of facsimile systems and networks. In less
than 3 years, the shareholders of Telegra received from 3
to 50 times their original investment on the sale of Telegra
to Agilent.
From 1987 to 1996, Bob was CEO of a number of venture-backed
companies through his consulting firm, Coast Ventures. In
1979, Bob founded Zitel Corporation, where as President and
CEO where in 1983 he led his team in the acquisition of a
$12 M division of Intel and took Zitel public through Kidder
Peabody. In 1983, while at Zitel, Bob co-founded OEMTech,
Inc., where he was an active member of the Board. OEMTech
was sold to Corvus Systems, Inc. in 1996, with the shareholders
of OEMTech achieving liquidity through the sale with multiples
of 2 to 35 times their original investment.
Bob holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from West Virginia
University.
